About Amy
I am an experienced GCSE & A-Level Mathematics & Physics tutor, who is currently an an Astrophysics researcher at the University of Oxford with a first-class integrated Master's degree in Physics from the University of Southampton. I was tutored through my A-Levels so I have first-hand experience in successful tutoring techniques and know first hand how demanding some of these subjects can be - particularly further maths! As part of my job, I tutor students through a variety of physics and maths courses, ranging from GCSE to undergraduate level. Therefore, I have many years of experience and know how to communicate these challenging subjects to students.
I have taught over 450 hours and consistently receive high praise and 5-star reviews from my previous and existing students.
My academic record shows 7 A*'s and 4 A's at GCSE, 3 A's and 1B (Music) at A-Level and a 1st Class Master's degree in Physics with Astronomy from the University of Southampton. As part of my degree, I studied for one year at Harvard University, USA and I have recently received my doctorate (PhD) in Astrophysics from the University of Oxford. In Autumn, I will begin working as an Astrophysics Researcher at the University of Durham.

Since becoming an online tutor, I have successfully tutored several students through GCSE physics, chemistry, and mathematics as well as A-Level physics, mathematics and further mathematics. I pride myself on quality and detailed tutoring which I tailor to each student's ability and preferred learning techniques. I bring in examination practice questions early to ensure that each student has plenty of experience with a wide variety of questions. I have found that this increases students confidence and reduces their anxiety, allowing them to calmly approach exams and fulfil their potential. I can also provide homework tasks on request. Typically, my lesson are 1 hour long but please ask for alternative durations if required.
I am well experienced with AQA, Edexcel & OCR mathematics and physics examinations so I can provide a good insight into these examinations, particularly the new specification exams. I can provide revision lessons for an exam, help with homework tasks, or long-term guidance on subjects throughout the academic year. I will be happy to tutor for multiple subjects - just get in touch!
