About Cailyn

I am currently working towards my Commercial Pilot License which will allow me to pursue my passion, aviation, as a career. As a student who did both conventional schooling as well as home schooling, from Grade 10 upwards, and with aviation being a self study industry, I believe the experience has lead me to grasp the capability of explaining concepts simply and clearly, as I do for myself everyday. Sharing my knowledge through laughter and fun, would bring nothing but honour to me. My experience includes approximately 2 years of voluntarily teaching English, to classes of Grade 1, 2 and 3 students (about 45 students per class) who are unable to understand, speak or write the language. This has put me in a place of understanding how to work with children who may need some extra assistance in the foundation phase, which with a little time and effort, would put them miles ahead of their classmates!

About the lesson

I truly believe that nothing is learnt through boredom. Having said that, making a lesson fun, interactive and engaging is crucially important for retaining information in the long term memory. I make use of visual aids such as pictures and drawings, which create excitement in the lesson, while continuing to ensure that together, we create an understanding of the concepts involved.
