About Karren

Students preparing for timed examinations often find their way to my door. I drifted into this work through a university help desk and never found a reason to leave. My training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama emphasises that mechanics must be broken into insultingly small parts to be understood.

Fluency in vibrato and intonation is built through intentional practice of scales and arpeggios. Tuning by ear and refining tone production are secondary only to solid music theory knowledge. Classical repertoire becomes accessible when shifting positions are analysed as structural logic rather than muscle memory. I focus on these technical foundations to ensure progress.

About the lesson

Do you find yourself repeating the same mistake during practice sessions without knowing why? I use my 8 years of experience to design a clear path towards fluency for every student.

Because I hold a Bachelor of Music, I emphasise that you should be able to explain these concepts back to me clearly. We prioritise the why behind every shift and bow stroke. My methodology relies on breaking down complex violin techniques until they are manageable. This methodical approach is documented in a monthly progress report shared with parents.

I track every metric of your growth over time. The goal is to build genuine understanding so you can eventually teach this to someone else. I enjoy seeing students connect the dots between theory and their repertoire.
