About Nicki

I love singing, performing, and teaching!

At the age of eight, I caught the theatre bug and performed in my first show, Winnie the Pooh, at San Diego Junior Theatre. I had never felt so happy, accepted, and at home. I knew that theatre is what I wanted to pursue. I attended The Catholic University of America where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre. After discovering my second passion of teaching, I went back to school (virtually!) to my alma mater and graduated with my Master of Arts in Theatre Education.

As a performer, what makes me most excited is working on shows that have a lot of heart and a lot of great music. Some favorite credits include, Signature Theatre: Grand Hotel (Flaemmchen), A Little Night Music (Anne); Arizona Broadway Theatre: Sweeney Todd (Johanna); Utah Shakespeare Festival: The Cocoanuts (Trixie), South Pacific; Toby’s Dinner Theatre: Grease (Sandy), Beauty and the Beast (Belle); Riverside Center: Beauty and the Beast (Belle); Legoland California: LEGOFriends: To the Rescue! (Stephanie), and Lamb's Players Theatre: An American Christmas, It's Christmas and It's Live (Delores).

As an educator, I love teaching music and drama to all ages. I have been a teaching artist with theatre companies including Arena Stage (Washington, D.C.) and Imagination Stage (Bethesda, MD) and am a Kindergarten—8th grade general music teacher during the academic year, finding any moment I can to integrate drama/theatre into the classroom. The best parts of the school year included directing/producing the Christmas Musical and co-directing the Shakespeare Festival performance.

Whether it is onstage, in the classroom, or in the studio, I believe that bringing beauty, creativity, and empathy to the world through art is crucial in building a kinder world. To do this, we must stay playful, be kind (especially to ourselves), and use our voice authentically from the heart and soul.

About the lesson

I am here to support you, build you up, and give you new skills to thrive as a singer! I have experience teaching all ages and experience levels! I am happy to cater warm-ups, technique, and song choices to what you want to work on. If you have an audition or performance coming up, I am ready to coach you so you feel prepared and comfortable with all aspects of the audition. My goal is to support you as a whole artist, giving you the confidence and technique needed to sing and perform with joy and sustainability.
