About Meredith
I graduated from University of Louisville with a BA in Communicative Disorders. Within my studies, I found that my courses in Communication, Psychology, Speech Science, Phonetics, and English have equipped me with knowledge in how to teach English most effectively. I am not a certified teacher, however, I have had 2 years of teaching experience with individuals who desired to excel in reading, writing, and grammar. My hope is for my students to learn to communicate most effectively in the English language!

While teaching both children and adults, I find more direct, cognitive approaches as the most effective in learning a language. I believe the best way to excel in language learning is to first focus on the development of oral skills with repeated exposure to the target language through conversation, role playing, visuals, and more. This approach emphasizes the learners ability to listen for phonetic changes and leads them to acquire the right pronunciation and rhythm of the target language. My desire is for the learner to feel confident and to enjoy speaking in the English language!
