About Emmalyne
I began studying music from the age of 5 and have never stopped since. I love to dig into the history of each piece of music I come across. Who is the composer/poet? What was their life like? What is the historical context? How does this piece of music set itself apart from others? In short, I encourage my students and myself to be curious about learning and to dig deep to truly understand the piece they are studying.

As a teacher, I help my students discover the joy and ease of singing. I believe in shaping the individual voice and expanding upon the student’s artistic inclinations. I first focus on honing the fundamental singing techniques. A firm foundation in breath support, onsets, vowel formation, tongue placement, and passagio navigation are vital to creating natural and easy singing. From there, I help my students discover their personal artistry. I respect the student’s ability to find, learn, and perform repertoire that they are passionate about. This freedom of learning paired with a firm technique helps my students have confidence in performance.
