About Lee
I was born and spent my early youth in Mendocino County. Except for college away in Tennessee and general travels I have lived in San Francisco since high school (Wallenberg). My B.A. was in Sociology but life long reading has been primarily in history and literature. I have worked in guest services/concierge for 30 years in SF hotels and currently expect to return to that when tourism revives (Although new opportunities or part time paths can result from the unexpected in life). From an early age I have thrived being in the outdoors but also enjoyed city life. I frequently would begin a day with a hike or on the water then finish at the symphony or seeing an art house or classic movie. From the Ohlone heritage to the Spanish/Mexican period up to the present I try to mix a sense of place with knowledge and heartfelt exploration. My wife, son, family and friends have sometimes accused me of attempting too much for a single day or two so that experience has refined my organizational aptitude :-) They will, however, attest to me having led them on many fine and informative outings.

I would pair a walk or visit to a museum (virtual if necessary) with relevant reading. For example old ranchero lands that are preserves now with passages from John Muir, Kevin Starr, Steinbeck and other California writers. An attempt to get any partiticipant to feel as well as hear about that history and respond.
