About Sophia
I am a Biological Engineering student attending Utah State University. I have been tutoring for 5 years. Tutoring has been a passion of mine for many years. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the "lightbulb" go off in my students. In addition to tutoring, I am passionate about rock climbing, skiing, and hiking!

Practice, practice, practice is key when it comes to learning a difficult subject. A typical lesson plan consists of mapping out the student's goals for the session, drafting a to-do list, diving into content areas that are weak, then revisiting content areas that we previously have worked on to ensure that knowledge is being retained.
I am a big believer that anyone can become an expert at any given subject, they just need to be given the tools to do so. As a tutor, I put an emphasis on patience and consistency with my students. As a tutor I make sure I do not spend the whole session talking, it is important to allow the students to verbalize what they are learning and "teach" me. I work with students ranging in age from Elementary to High School.
