About Jen

Throughout nursing school, most of us have to constantly adapt and change the way we've always studied - to maybe even using types of methods we didn't know existed. My program was accelerated and quickly, you realize memorization does not work. You have to have a foundation to build on to keep afloat and continue to expand your knowledge. Meanwhile, you are attending clinical and required to transfer over everything you're learning in the classroom to your real-life patient.

Many people forget, being "smart" is not a genetic trait. It is a skill. Becoming a stronger nursing student takes practice, trial and error, grit, and determination.

I was diagnosed with ADHD during pre-nursing school which encouraged me to continue to find ways to learn and adapt to faced paced learning.

After nursing school is the NCLEX, which I learned quickly is a different animal than nursing school. I am here to help with both!

About the lesson

Lecture exams, clinical exams, performance reviews, care plans, simulation lab, lab hours....

After learning about your particular learning style and areas of focus - together we navigate hurdles that temporarily impede our progress forward. I help explain process, disease, or big picture in a way that you’ll understand not just memorize. I use life examples, incorporating years of experience in the field, also helping you realize struggling is a part of the journey but ultimately means growth. Throughout my years of nursing education, I am equipped with numerous resources to aid in continuous learning and expansion on what we discover together to strengthen your knowledge.

I have been a tutor since 2018 when I started tutoring microbiology. I have experience working with students with learning disabilities.

My hourly rate includes any materials, links, pdfs, worksheets, notes, any resources we discuss or go over during tutoring. My rate also includes email / contact options anytime we aren't in a session and you have a question.
