Hello! I'm George. I know that studying English can be scary or boring (sorry, Duolingo). Let's make this different - lessons built around you, your goals, and your interests, so you actually look forward to learning. I offer online English lessons designed for real progress, not just ticking boxes. With a world-renowned CELTA teaching qualification and 1,000+ hours of teaching experience in classrooms and online, I work with learners from all backgrounds - refugees, business professionals, college students, even people who just want to talk like a British person. My approach is practical, student-centered, and sprinkled with genuine British flair—whether you’re aiming for IELTS, Cambridge BEC, TOEFL, B1 Preliminary, or simply dreaming of chatting confidently about your day. I tailor every session to your style and goals—exam strategies one week, real-life conversation the next, and plenty of authentic UK English. This could mean YouTube street interviews, The Beatles song lyrics, snippets of classic literature, fun British slang. All so that you—or your child—get immersed from the get-go. I learned Spanish to C1 level and I'm currently learning Italian and Japanese, so I know how daunting language study can feel. In my lessons you'll enter into a supportive, flexible environment where we tackle your challenges together, using digital tools and real-world materials to keep things interactive, relevant, and—dare I say—fun. My approach as your teacher: • Student-Centered Learning: Every lesson is shaped around your goals, interests, and preferred learning style. I use a mix of discussion, real-world tasks, and skill-building exercises. • Exam Preparation: I have experience helping students succeed in IELTS, Cambridge BEC, B1 Preliminary, TOEFL, and APTIS. Lessons focus on strategies, practice tasks, and feedback. • Digital Integration: I use educational technology and authentic materials (news articles, videos, podcasts) to make learning engaging and practical. A Typical Lesson: • Needs Review: Brief check-in and review of previous material. • New Focus: Introduction of new language or skills, using practical examples. • Practice: Interactive tasks-role-plays, discussions, or exam-style questions-tailored to your objectives. • Feedback: Immediate, constructive feedback and tips for independent study. What Sets Me Apart: • Diverse Experience: I’ve taught adults, teenagers, and young learners from a variety of countries, backgrounds, and with different needs. • Ongoing Professional Development: I regularly update my methods (attending conferences, courses) to ensure lessons are current and effective. • Personal Insight: As a language learner myself, I bring empathy and practical advice to every class. Who My Lessons Are For: • Levels: Beginner to advanced (A1–C1). Principiantes absolutos (pre-A1) ¡Puedo enseñarte en español! • Ages: 0-150 • Focus Areas: Conversation, exam preparation, travel, business English, general English, online English, and tailored support for professionals, students, or newcomers.
