About Philipp

I am Philipp, I am 25 years old and from Austria. I am living and working around the world - including Los Angeles, New York, Bangkok and Istanbul. I am able to teach any size of class and any age, because I am a proud owner of a CELTA certificate. CELTA stands for "Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages" - it is awarded by Cambridge University. My pass B rating is only given to a small percentage of CELTA teachers and shows that I can teach very well!
I am a very open-minded person. The most important thing for me is that you learn something. Every lesson will be about you. Learning doesn't have to be hard and difficult - I am really trying to enable a positive learning environment where you can fully concentrate and improve your abilities! About the lesson

I am flexible when it comes to the duration and the timetable. Furthermore, I'm able to teach both groups and individual students. Each lesson is approximately 45 minutes long and either focuses on language systems (grammar, vocabulary, or functional language) or language skills (reading, listening, speaking, or writing). The lessons are challenging because you should ideally learn something new. If you are interested, I can send you a syllabus and we can work out your strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
For any questions, feel free to contact me. Generally, English is used in the classroom, but I'm also a native German speaker, so I can offer the flexibility to change to German in individual or group lessons.

For whom is this course?
I can teach everyone – your age and origin doesn't matter! Also, it is unimportant if you are a complete beginner in high school or writing academic English in university – in a free and informative first meeting we can go over your English level, your goals and what you would like to achieve. Or maybe you just want to improve your English and don't know so much about your goals? In this case I can also suggest interesting lessons and subjects for you!

How do I know you can teach me well?
I have an official CELTA certificate - CELTA stands for “Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages”. It is moderated by Cambridge University and is a qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It is the most widely recognized English teaching qualification in the world and the absolute gold standard for every English teacher. The pass B rating is only awarded to a small percentage of graduates and highlights that I understand and teach English above the standard.

How do I know if I want to learn something?
For every lesson, I am providing you with a clear goal and a thought through lesson plan. Every lesson is well-planned and worth your time and money. You will quickly make progress if you are willing to learn. Moreover, you will get plenty of exercises as well as the opportunity to develop and improve you English every step on the way. Quickly, you will notice that you are making real progress! There is nothing to worry about - no books and no extra costs. All you need is a stable internet connection and the Zoom application to join the meeting.

Can I participate in this course with my friends or family?
Yes of course! I can teach groups of every possible size. There is no difference in terms of how much you will learn. On the contrary, with group members it will be even more engaging, because we can include games, speaking exercises and discussions, which will help you improve even further. But it is totally possible and worth to do the lessons completely by yourself as well. It's your choice - I can guarantee a good lesson either way!
