About Oisin

Originally from Sligo, I'm currently completing my master's degree in mathematics at the University of Cambridge (part III of the mathematical tripos), and I will begin my PhD here in October 2026. Before this I studied pure mathematics and theoretical physics at Maynooth, where I graduated first among all science students. In my leaving cert I got a 625 studying maths, applied maths, physics, engineering, dcg, and Irish. I've been teaching leaving cert grinds for five years now and have also worked for two years as a tutor within the mathematics department at Maynooth University.

About the lesson

I'm looking for students who are interested in developing a full understanding of mathematics, with the aim of performing above the H1 level. I teach via google meet (no camera required) sharing my screen of my drawing tablet, going through any topic the student is interested in for that session. If needed, I often write up short notes for my students on a given topic if they struggled with it during the class, and can provide copies of broader sets of notes for regular students.

I run hour-long classes, and never charge extra if the class has to go on. I don't charge for a no-show, and will wait for 15 minutes in case the student is running late.
The first class is always free, where we figure out how best to adapt to the student's needs. I'm also happy to work with any mathematical aspects of other subjects such as physics, applied maths, etc.
