About McKenna

Hello! My name is McKenna Wolverton, and I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a Bachelor of Science in K-12 Health and Physical Education from Rowan University. With years of experience teaching multiple subjects in diverse settings, including elementary through middle school, I have developed a teaching approach that is focused on fostering academic and personal growth. I am known for creating engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. My experience includes both in-person and remote teaching, having successfully navigated the challenges of online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining student engagement and motivation. I hold a New Jersey K-12 Health and Physical Education CEAS certification, along with a Driver Education Endorsement and a Certified Substitute Teacher qualification. I also have specialized training through Penn State Extension, which further informs my approach to child development and safety. Whether working in small groups, one-on-one, or in whole-class settings, I focus on building a positive, inclusive environment where students feel respected and supported. I am committed to helping my students achieve their academic and personal goals, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for success both inside and outside the classroom. About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on creating a personalized learning experience that accommodates each student’s unique needs and learning style. I employ a mix of visual, auditory, and hands-on techniques to ensure concepts are grasped from multiple perspectives. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to make lessons engaging and relevant. For a typical lesson plan, I begin with an assessment to gauge the student’s understanding, followed by an introduction to the lesson’s objectives. At the end, I assign practice exercises and offer feedback to ensure retention and mastery.

What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to the student’s pace, building confidence and fostering independent learning. My passion for helping students reach both academic and personal goals fuels my approach, ensuring they not only succeed in the subject but also grow in motivation and resilience. I offer tutoring for students at various levels, from elementary through to high school.
