About Hazel

My interest in chemistry started with curiosity about the invisible forces shaping matter and life. I hold a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, equipping me with theoretical expertise and practical experience. Over 12 years, I have guided learners at all levels, helping them grasp complex chemical concepts, solve problems effectively, and develop analytical skills.

I teach using structured explanations, interactive exercises, problem-solving sessions, and practical examples. Many students initially find reaction mechanisms or thermodynamics challenging, so I provide stepwise guidance, reinforcement, and personalized feedback. Lessons are designed to cultivate understanding, skill, and confidence, promoting mastery and curiosity.

Outside teaching, I engage in research, lab work, and applied chemistry projects, bringing real-world context into lessons. Watching students progress from hesitation to proficiency, gaining independent thinking, analytical reasoning, and confidence in chemistry, is profoundly rewarding. I aim to inspire curiosity, precision, and a lifelong passion for exploring the chemical sciences in every learner.

Chemistry becomes engaging when students understand how molecular interactions underpin real-world phenomena. My lessons cover organic and inorganic reactions, thermodynamics, kinetics, stoichiometry, equilibrium, and analytical reasoning. I emphasize conceptual clarity over memorization, using hands-on exercises, problem-solving, and practical examples to make abstract ideas tangible. Each lesson encourages curiosity, exploration, and active learning in a supportive environment.

For beginners, I focus on chemical principles, simple reaction balancing, and conceptual understanding, using stepwise explanations and illustrative examples. Intermediate learners engage with reaction mechanisms, quantitative problem-solving, thermodynamic calculations, and applied scenarios. Advanced learners explore spectroscopy, kinetics, molecular modeling, and interdisciplinary applications, developing analytical reasoning, independence, and mastery. Lessons are customized to the student’s level, prior knowledge, and goals, integrating guided practice, iterative problem-solving, and constructive feedback.

Studying chemistry nurtures precision, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, valuable across academics, research, and professional contexts. Students learn to interpret experiments, synthesize information, and apply principles creatively. My goal is to develop learners who are confident, curious, and capable of applying chemical knowledge thoughtfully, independently, and effectively.
