About Poppy

My fascination with chemistry started early, drawn to the elegance of chemical transformations and the molecular logic behind everyday phenomena. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, developing both theoretical knowledge and extensive laboratory skills. Over the past 12 years, I have mentored students across all academic levels, helping them understand complex chemical concepts, perform precise experiments, and cultivate analytical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom.

I teach with patience, clarity, and a flexible approach, integrating step-by-step explanations, visual demonstrations, problem-solving exercises, and iterative feedback. Many students initially find reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, or analytical techniques challenging, so I provide structured guidance, personalized reinforcement, and practical examples to ensure mastery and confidence. Lessons are designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning.

Outside teaching, I engage in research, chemical analysis, and applied projects, enriching lessons with real-world context and practical relevance. Witnessing students progress from hesitation to competence, gaining confidence, precision, and curiosity about the chemical world, is immensely rewarding. My mission is to inspire students to approach chemistry with creativity, rigor, and a lifelong passion for discovery.

Chemistry comes alive when learners connect abstract principles with real-world applications, laboratory techniques, and molecular reasoning. My lessons cover organic and inorganic chemistry, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, spectroscopy, and practical lab work, emphasizing conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I use interactive exercises, visual demonstrations, simulations, and experimental examples to make complex ideas tangible. Each session is designed to nurture curiosity, precision, and scientific reasoning, providing a structured yet engaging learning environment.

For beginners, I focus on atomic structure, basic chemical reactions, molecular bonding, and fundamental laboratory techniques, using visualizations and stepwise explanations to foster comprehension. Intermediate learners advance to reaction mechanisms, thermodynamic calculations, equilibrium concepts, and quantitative analysis, building confidence in complex problem-solving. Advanced learners explore multi-step organic synthesis, instrumental analysis, chemical modeling, and interdisciplinary applications in pharmaceuticals and materials science. Lessons are tailored to individual learning goals, prior knowledge, and pace, combining guided practice, iterative problem-solving, and constructive feedback.

Studying chemistry cultivates analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and attention to detail. Students learn to interpret experimental data, design precise experiments, and apply chemical concepts in diverse contexts. My goal is to nurture learners who are confident, scientifically literate, and capable of applying chemical knowledge creatively, independently, and effectively in academic or practical environments.
