About Ivy
My interest in chemistry began with a fascination for how invisible particles create the world we interact with. This curiosity led me to earn a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences, where I studied molecular behaviour, reaction mechanisms, and the logic of chemical systems. Over my 9 years of teaching, I’ve helped students move from confusion to clarity through explanations that feel calm, clear, and grounded in real understanding. I teach with patience, structure, and genuine care for each student’s confidence. I enjoy finding simple ways to explain challenging ideas, using relatable examples and visual descriptions. Many students arrive feeling intimidated by chemistry, and guiding them to a place of confidence and understanding is something I deeply value. I focus on making each lesson feel supportive, organised, and optimistic so learners never feel alone in their challenges. Outside of teaching, I stay connected to chemistry through reading scientific updates, analysing problem sets, and exploring real-world chemical applications. This continual learning helps me keep lessons fresh, relevant, and engaging. Teaching chemistry is meaningful to me because I witness students develop clarity, resilience, and belief in their intellectual strength.

Chemistry becomes much more manageable when students understand how tiny interactions create the behaviour of the world they see every day. My lessons guide learners through atomic structure, bonding, reaction trends, energy changes, acids and bases, and lab-style reasoning at a pace that feels calm and supportive. I help them see patterns in chemical behaviour so they can connect ideas instead of memorising isolated facts. Each session encourages questions, curiosity, and structured thinking. I tailor each lesson to the student’s current level. Beginners receive clear explanations, simple visual models, and step-by-step reasoning for core topics. Intermediate learners explore reaction prediction, equilibrium ideas, stoichiometry, periodic trends, and multi-step chemical interpretation. Advanced students refine calculation methods, exam strategies, conceptual analysis, and structured scientific thinking. Throughout the process, I support learners with patient guidance and consistent encouragement. Chemistry lessons also help students build problem-solving resilience, logical reasoning, and academic self-confidence. As learners begin to see how chemical systems operate, they often grow more comfortable with scientific thinking in general. Many find a sense of empowerment when they realise they can interpret reactions, predict outcomes, and explain concepts with clarity. My goal is to help students experience chemistry not as a barrier but as a subject they can truly understand.
