About Emma

I’m a chemistry educator who has taught at Harvard University, and what I care about most is how students feel when they’re learning.

My students often tell me they appreciate that I don’t just repeat the same explanation louder or slower and hope it sticks. If something doesn’t make sense, we try a different angle. A different example. A different analogy. A different way of thinking about it. I stay with a concept until it truly clicks.

I also believe chemistry shouldn’t exist in a vacuum. I constantly connect what we’re learning to real situations, prior knowledge, and bigger ideas so students understand why it matters — not just how to get the right answer.

I create a space where questions are encouraged, confusion is normal, and understanding is the goal. Chemistry can feel intimidating, but with the right support and flexibility, it becomes something students can actually feel confident about.

My priority is simple: we keep working together until it makes sense.

About the lesson

I’m an experienced chemistry educator who has taught at Harvard University and now specializes in helping high school students and freshmen master chemistry with clarity and confidence.

Chemistry becomes much easier when you understand the “why” behind reactions and formulas — and that’s exactly how I teach. Whether you're taking general high school chemistry, AP Chemistry, or need to ace your chemistry class as a pre-med, I break complex topics into clear, structured steps that make the material manageable and logical.

My sessions focus on:
• Understanding core concepts (not memorizing blindly)
• Clear explanations of stoichiometry, thermodynamics, equilibrium, acids & bases, and reaction types
• Guided practice problems with step-by-step reasoning
• Building confidence before quizzes and exams

Many students struggle with chemistry because it feels abstract. I translate difficult ideas into relatable examples and organized systems so students feel prepared — not overwhelmed.

My goal is not just to help you pass your next test, but to help you feel capable and confident in science.
