About Marcel

I am a junior in college with a strong academic background in math and science, offering personalized tutoring tailored to each student’s course and learning style. I focus on clear explanations, structured problem-solving, and building long-term understanding rather than short-term memorization.

My approach is patient, organized, and student-centered. I prepare each lesson based on the student’s specific class, assignments, and goals, ensuring sessions are both efficient and productive. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gaining confidence in their abilities.

I work with high school and college students across a range of math and science subjects, including algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry, and exam preparation. My goal is to help students improve their understanding, performance, and confidence through consistent, professional instruction.

About the lesson

Teaching method & techniques
I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorizing steps. I break complex topics into simple, manageable pieces, use real examples, and adjust explanations based on how each student learns. I encourage questions and make sessions interactive so students stay engaged.

Typical lesson plan
Each session starts with a quick check-in to identify what the student is struggling with. We then review key concepts, work through practice problems together, and gradually move toward independent problem-solving. I end sessions with a short summary and tips the student can use when studying on their own.

What sets me apart
As a junior in college, I’ve recently taken many of the same classes I tutor, so I understand common pitfalls, exam formats, and effective study strategies. I tailor lessons to specific courses and syllabi, and I focus on building confidence as well as improving grades.
