About Jisoo
As a native Chinese speaker and Columbia student passionate about the language, I will:
1) Ensure the most comfortable learning environment tailored to your skills and learning capacity: Everyone has different ways of learning, especially in language. I will design courses to suit your needs and ability. Confidence is another key aspect of mastering any language, so I will ensure our learning environment is encouraging and effective.
2) Help you achieve your goal in the shortest possible time: While learning a language takes time, there are shortcuts to success that many language learners may not know about. I will act as your tutor and mentor who guides you through the intricacies and "hacks" to mastering Chinese.

- Speaking: Chinese phonetics are hard to master. As a Chinese native and East Asian Languages (EAS) major, I will take students through basic phonetics with a unique intuitive approach. This approach guarantees success for Chinese learners at all levels.
- Listening: HSK Course materials will be used to enhance students' listening ability.
- Reading: Reading projects will be designed based on the student's ability, from elementary reading material to more canonized Chinese literature.
- Writing: HSK writing projects will enhance students' writing ability. For elementary-level students, a slower approach will be taken by introducing various Chinese characters and learning via dictation.
