About Ashwaq

I’m a Computer Science graduate from the University at Buffalo with a 3.86 GPA and currently work as a Software Engineer. My academic and professional background has strengthened my problem-solving and analytical skills, which I bring into every lesson.

I’m patient, supportive, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and working through challenging problems. I take the time to understand each student’s needs and adjust my approach to help them succeed.

Whether you need help with homework, preparing for an exam, or strengthening your foundation in Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, or Calculus, I’m here to help you build both your skills and confidence in math.

About the lesson

My goal as a tutor is to make math feel less intimidating and help students build the confidence to solve problems independently. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a problem rather than simply memorizing formulas or steps, so I focus on explaining concepts clearly and breaking challenging problems into smaller, manageable pieces.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of the student’s current understanding and the specific topics they are struggling with. I then explain the concept step by step, work through examples together, and give the student opportunities to practice with guidance. As they become more comfortable, I encourage them to solve problems independently while providing hints and feedback when needed. We can also focus lessons on homework, upcoming exams, or strengthening foundational skills.

I tutor **Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Calculus**. I can help with homework, test preparation, reviewing difficult concepts, catching up in class, or building a stronger foundation for future math courses.

What sets me apart is my combination of strong academic preparation and a patient teaching style. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a **3.86 GPA in Computer Science**, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, logic, and problem-solving. My experience as a Software Engineer has further strengthened my ability to approach complex problems logically and explain them in a structured way.
