About Maddie
I am a recent graduate from Boston University with a bachelors' in Music Composition & Theory and a concentration in piano performance. I have been giving both private and group lessons (Chicago Duo Piano Festival; Summer 2018) for two years. I love sharing my passion for music through teaching others and want nothing more than to inspire upcoming musicians in the same way I was inspired by my teachers.

I like to approach each lesson by teaching specific techniques and then explaining the musical benefits of these techniques. For example, practicing difficult passages slowly can improve the player's physical technique and memory, and therefore musicality. As a composer, I also like to give my students background on the pieces they are learning; knowledge of the composer's intentions can give the student a better grasp of the piece and inspire them musically.
