About Kacy

My background includes an Associate's in Mathematics and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering. The knowledge that I developed from working in the field and from my college experiences has prepared me with the mathematical and scientific skills needed to help lead you (or your student) to success.
The breakdown of my tutoring experience is as follows:
Elementary-high school math including Algebra 1&2, Geometry, and Precalc: 12 years.
College level Precalculus and Calculus: 10 years.

About the lesson

I have a passion for helping students not just pass their math classes, but actually learn and understand the material! I use a student-first approach to meet each individual where they are in the learning process and truly develop their mathematical skills in ways that work best for them. When tutoring, it is my goal to not only strengthen skills, but also build confidence that stays for test day and beyond.
Much of my experience comes from doing private, in-home sessions and Zoom lessons (thanks to COVID!). If math is your most difficult subject, I am here to help! While I may be new to SuperProf, I have the experience working with local companies to bring you the best support possible. We will use sessions to break down problems step by step. When applicable, I like to use visual aids and walk through the solution with the student. Ultimately, it is my goal to find a pathway to understanding with each student I work with and I understand that may look a little different for each one.

Our son Billy was struggling in algebra, specifically with quadratic equations and losing confidence, and Kacy was able to break down complex concepts into simple, easy to understand steps. Kacy was always patient and encouraging during every session. Billy went from a D to a B and is starting to enjoy algebra more now that he can understand the equations. We are so incredibly grateful for all of Kacy’s help, we couldn’t have done it without her!
