About Evan
I am a current high school student with a 102 overall average, and I am ranked 3rd in my class of 316 people. I have held these grades while also being captain of the varsity soccer team and varsity lacrosse team. I was also class president for 3/4 years of my high school career. I finished algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, and pre calculus with a: 98,99,99, and 100 respectively.

Math doesn't require much memorization. There are baseline rules that are necessary for success, and most problems are based off of these few rules. I teach students through the explanation of math rules and why we do problems a certain way, opposed to just telling them this is how we do it and having them memorize a trick. I will then have the student complete new practice problems I specifically designed to go with the concept we are discussing.
Typical lesson plan: Student presents me with current unit/concept and I have them go through a few practice problems on their own. After the student solves the problems by themselves or, gets stuck, I evaluate their performance and address issues with their mathematic skills. This will be done through the process explained above.
