About Alyssa
I have experience working as a tutor during high school, where I worked with students (of all ages), teaching both math and English, helping them improve their overall academic skills. That experience taught me how important patience, encouragement, and personalized learning are when helping students succeed. I am currently majoring in child psychology in college, which has given me a deeper understanding of how students learn and develop different learning styles.
In college, I also had the opportunity to truly grow as a writer myself by learning how to express my own ideas and strengthen my creativity without relying on AI to do the work for me. While I believe AI can be a helpful tool when used responsibly and ethically, I focus on teaching students how to think critically, develop their own voice, and use technology in a non-plagiarizing and supportive way. My goal is to help students build confidence in their abilities and become stronger, more independent writers.

My teaching methods would include using students’ assignments and homework as a foundation, along with step-by-step instruction and constructive feedback, to help advance students based on the level they are expected to be at. My work would include helping students with essays and creative writing while encouraging their ideas and creativity to flow naturally. My goal as a tutor is to help students reach a point where they are able to write confidently without relying on AI, as it has become a major reason why many students’ creative skills have weakened. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to connect with students on a personal level and adapt my teaching style to fit each student’s learning needs. I focus not only on improving grades, but also on building confidence, creativity, and independent writing skills that students can carry with them long-term. My classes are for elementary through high school students.
