About Mohit

My name is Mohit, and I am a surgical resident with a strong background in pre-medical sciences, MCAT preparation, and USMLE exams. Having successfully navigated these exams myself, I understand both the content and the strategy required to perform well.

I focus on helping students build efficient study habits, improve test-taking skills, and develop confidence in approaching challenging questions. I am committed to professionalism, reliability, and support, and I tailor my teaching to each student’s individual goals and learning style.

About the lesson

My name is Mohit, & I work with a wide range of students, including pre-med undergrads fulfilling their prerequisites and preparing for the MCATs, and medical students preparing for USMLE exams. I tailor each session to the student’s level, goals, and timeline, whether they need foundational concept review or advanced test-taking strategy refinement.

My approach as a tutor focuses on building efficient study systems and strong reasoning rather than just memorization. As a surgical resident, I understand how overwhelming pre-med courses, MCAT, and USMLE preparation can feel, and I aim to simplify that process into clear, repeatable strategies.

I emphasize 3 core areas: (1) how to study effectively, (2) how to approach and break down questions, and (3) how to review mistakes in a way that leads to long-term improvement. Many students spend hours studying without a structured method—I work to change that by helping students develop a framework they can rely on independently.

A typical session starts with an assessment of problem areas based on recent question sets or exams. From there, we will work through high-yield concepts using active recall and targeted discussion, followed by guided question breakdowns. I will spend time walking students through how to identify key clues, eliminate distractors, and recognize common test patterns. We then spend time reviewing missed questions in detail, focusing on why an answer was wrong and how to avoid similar mistakes again in the future. I also help students build personalized study schedules and efficient review systems.

What sets me apart is my focus on metacognition—teaching students how to think about their thinking. I don’t just explain content; I help students understand how to approach any unfamiliar question with confidence. My goal is for students to become independent learners who no longer need a tutor.
