About Ashya
I’d say I’m someone who’s naturally curious and likes understanding the “why” behind things, not just the surface-level answer. Because of my IB background and the way I’ve approached my academics—especially in law and research, I’ve learned to think critically, ask better questions, and connect ideas across subjects. Over time, I realized that the moments I understood something deeply were often the moments I could explain it clearly to someone else.
I want to share my knowledge because I genuinely enjoy that shift; from confusion to clarity, not just for myself, but for others. I know how intimidating subjects like English or law can feel when they seem rigid or technical. If I can make them more accessible, structured, and less overwhelming, that feels meaningful to me. Teaching, for me, isn’t about showing that I know something; it’s about helping someone else feel confident enough to say, “I get this now.” And honestly, every time I explain something, I end up understanding it better myself. That exchange is what makes sharing knowledge so rewarding for me.

I would teach English as a tool for communication and critical thinking rather than as a purely academic subject. would first identify the student’s specific strengths and gaps—whether in vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, or confidence in speaking. Sessions would then be tailored to their pace and interests, incorporating texts and themes that engage them directly. One-on-one settings allow for immediate feedback, so I would gently correct errors in real time while explaining underlying patterns to build long-term understanding. I would also integrate mini goal-setting exercises, helping the student track improvement over time, which fosters accountability and motivation. The focus would be on building both linguistic skill and self-assurance, ensuring that the student not only improves academically but also becomes comfortable expressing ideas clearly and independently.
