About Carla
I am currently a Law student but have very much enjoyed my English lessons throughout the years. I did English Language for my A levels and found this subject enriching. I understand that English can be a complicated subject for many students, but I hope to change that mindset through encouragement and time. English is not a subject which contains right or wrong answers, it's about expressing your ideas in a correct manner which takes a lot of practice. I am here to help students who have difficulties expressing those ideas. I have worked with year 6 students after COVID-19 who had difficulties with comprehension whether it be understanding the text or the questions and finding the answers. By having weekly lessons I was able to make these students feel more confident and they are now all thriving in high school.

I believe that each child has a different way of learning. During my lessons, I like to learn about strategies that are suited for that specific student. I tend to listen to the students' worries and understand what they may be struggling with and from there I think of a plan. It is important for me that my students find my lessons enjoyable and hopefully grow to have a positive view of learning.
