About Simon

First session is always free and introductory to see if my student and I align and get on well as tutor/tutee. I start with a consultation in the first session to find out what you want to focus on so that I can target my teaching to the areas you want most, so that you get what you need from the teaching! I teach in 1 hour blocks, or 30 minute focus sessions if there's something very specific. I can help you to understand topics within Chemistry, proofread lab reports/assignments, suggest further reading, and help you to work through Chemical problems. I have a doctorate in Chemistry and over 6 years experience in industry. I have taught theoretically and practically - both undergraduates and scientists in industry. I have taught undergraduate labs at university across every topic in an undergraduate Chemistry degree, and marked coursework. I am DBS certified. My sessions are appropriate for A-level, degree level, or above within Chemistry. I have worked in a range of chemical topics; organic, inorganic, electrochemistry, physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, nano-chemistry, to name a few.
