As a professional member of engineers Australia, we do foresee a shortage in engineering skills that would impact the economy in both short and long term.
The future lies on our ability to help students during early stages of education so we have more students interested in STEM
As an experienced engineer who obtained degree from overseas and moved to Australia; I've identified a lot of challenges that students face mainly in understanding of the concept before jumping into details.
Therefore, I do believe that by giving more practical life examples to problems, we're basically improving students' capabilities to address any challenges they face.
