About Kiana
Hi, I’m a personal trainer with a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology and years of hands-on experience coaching individuals and teams. My passion lies in helping people feel strong, confident, and capable—in their bodies and in their everyday lives. I specialize in person-centered, strength-based training that goes beyond just weight loss or aesthetics. My approach is rooted in behavioral science, functional movement, and holistic wellness. Whether you're brand new to fitness, returning after a break, or looking for a more affirming and inclusive experience, I’m here to support you with care and professionalism. As someone who understands the mental and emotional side of fitness, I know how intimidating it can feel to get started. My goal is to create a space where all bodies and identities are welcome, respected, and celebrated. My Approach as a Personal Trainer and Wellness Tutor
My teaching style is rooted in person-centered coaching, meaning I prioritize your individual goals, values, and lived experience. I take a collaborative approach that empowers you to build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits, without pressure or judgment. My methods are grounded in exercise science, behavior change theory, and holistic wellness—particularly the Self-Determination Theory and the 8 Dimensions of Wellness—to support not only physical fitness but also emotional and mental well-being.
A typical lesson plan includes:
A quick check-in and movement screening to see how your body is feeling that day
A personalized warm-up to prep for strength and mobility
A progressive, strength-based workout that’s adapted to your ability and daily energy levels
Functional movements tied to your goals (e.g., carrying groceries, reducing pain, boosting confidence)
A cool-down and reflection to build self-awareness and long-term progress
What sets me apart is my inclusive, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to fitness. I offer a supportive space where all bodies are respected and celebrated, and where growth is measured by how you feel—not just how you look.
