About Reza
I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Math with 5 years experience of teaching for university and high school students in the broad area of mathematics, physics, and engineering. I have taught more than 5000 students over the course of my studies at the university and afterwards.

The desire to teach and interact with students is among the major reasons why I am pursuing a career in academia. I will develop strong professional and personal relationships with my students to contribute to the strategic goals of the College of Engineering at University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Through providing the personal attention students need to succeed, I will make a positive contribution to their success and foster the cultivation of intellectual and moral values. The central duty and one of the most enjoyable aspects of an academic position is to teach and train the next generation of engineers and scientists.
As an instructor, I consider the sociocultural theory of learning as a most effective strategy of teaching, which recognizes the student as a collaborative participant. Therefore, improving the critical thinking skills of students, developing students' creative skills, involving students in class and making an interactive environment, building a bridge between theory and practice (providing real world projects), inspiring students to become motivated learners, staying up-to-date in the knowledge and skills required for teaching, and most importantly being available for after class discussions and questions are essential ingredients for my success in teaching.
