About Em

Hey there, I'm Emily, an engineering student at the University of Auckland. Tutoring initially began as a way for me to share my passion for English, but along the way, I discovered a deep love for teaching Mathematics as well. As someone who hasn't always been a 'maths boffin', I understand the struggle of tackling seemingly daunting concepts. Through my own experience, I've learned how to break down these challenges into smaller, more manageable pieces. As a tutor, I strive to convey this process to my students, guiding them toward those 'aha' moments of understanding. There's truly no better feeling than witnessing that breakthrough, and I'm eager to help others experience it too.

About the lesson

With three years of tutoring experience, I've learned that no single teaching method suits all students. I believe that each person learns differently, so I tailor my lessons accordingly. I tutor Mathematics comprehensively for students aged 7 to 14, with lesson durations ranging from one to two hours, depending on individual needs.
