Hello, my name is Josie! I graduated recently with a degree in education. Growing up I lived on a farm and loved being outdoors. Currently, I enjoy doing hands-on crafts and getting to know other people around me better. • With my background in education, I have extensive knowledge in basic concepts for all areas of learning. I am especially experienced in teaching English basics such as reading, writing, grammar, and phonetics.
• Full time elementary classroom teacher. I have experience working with materials in all subject areas from a 1st to 6th grade level. Open to tutoring in any subject that you feel you need to improve on or just practice more!
• Experience working with students who are English as a second language learners.
• I am very easy to work with and will always adapt lessons to fit the needs of the learner. This includes difficulty level, pace of the lesson, and preferred learning styles of the student.

I have spent the past 4 years studying how to teach elementary-level students in all subject areas. I learned about all of the new content and standards for Illinois for 2026. I am a certified teacher and know different strategies for getting students of all varieties of learning styles engaged. I am very flexible in my scheduling and will always adapt to the needs of the student to get the best outcome.
