About Vanderhaar
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Van Der Haar, and I am from South Africa. I am someone who truly believes in growth, determination, and always giving my best. I am passionate about helping others build confidence and discover what they are capable of achieving. I value kindness, respect, and hard work, and I always try to bring positive energy into everything I do.
I am fun, relatable, and very loving, and I believe that building strong, positive relationships makes all the difference. I want you to feel comfortable, understood, and supported. At the same time, I encourage you to challenge yourself, because I know you are capable of amazing things.
Outside of teaching, I love staying active and adventurous. I enjoy football, hiking, and spending time in nature, which helps me stay balanced and energized. I also enjoy playing video games; they remind me that learning can be strategic, creative, and exciting.
My goal is to inspire you to believe in yourself, stay motivated, and never be afraid to try. I look forward to growing, laughing, and achieving great things together!

With 6 years of teaching experience, including 3 years in Kuwait, and 3 years of tutoring experience in ESL and Mathematics, I offer structured yet engaging lessons tailored to learners from basic to advanced levels. My lessons typically run between 1–2 hours, allowing sufficient time for concept explanation, guided practice, and independent application to ensure deep understanding. I hold a Bachelor of Education in the Foundation Phase and use a learner-centred methodology that combines clear instruction, interactive activities, real-life examples, and differentiated support to meet each student’s individual needs. Whether working with young learners or older students, my goal is to build strong foundational skills, boost confidence, and develop independent thinking in a supportive and motivating learning environment.
