About Jessica
I am currently a student at UCLA studying English with a concentration in creative writing, expanding on the skills I have developed through my own writing and work with students. I have worked as an instructor at multiple elementary and middle school camps for the arts, guiding students as they learned about a variety of creative and artistic pursuits.
I have tutored young students in beginning learning skills such as phonics and basic grammar all the way up to high school students writing upper-level essays and reading from authors such as Shakespeare, Hemingway, Steinbeck, Dickens, Orwell, etc.
I want students to enjoy the process of reading and writing, and I am always looking for ways to customize my services for the needs and interests of my students.

Students can expect to receive attentive and engaging English lessons that range in difficulty and subject matter based on interest and grade level.
I aim to make lessons as interactive as possible and strive to customize lesson plans based on the student's interests and needs. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, and can cover anything from early reading skills to upper-level high school essays and research papers.
I believe in the power of storytelling and I believe that every student has their own story to share. Students will learn how to communicate effectively, think critically, and become proficient in comprehending and analyzing various texts suited to each grade level.
I also want students to have fun! Reading and writing can transport your student to other worlds all while sharpening their comprehension and composition skills.
