About Patricio

I am a filmmaker, Mexican-American, living in CDMX after living 18 YEARS in San Francisco California. There I studied from elementary school until I got my BA in Film from San Francisco State University. English is my native language.

I learned to speak English in 3 months when I immigrated to the United States and what helped me the most was having no choice but to learn it! That{s why I learned so quickly and this is how I plan to teach you. My class is a reflection of my first experiences with English: a total immersion of the language, culture, and life in English.

About the lesson

Welcome to where art and language adapt to your needs! It doesn't matter if you are starting, coming back, or polishing your English, this course is for you!

My courses have everything from grammar studies, article readings, short stories, and poems, to studying music together. Above all, I will give you a study of the classic film and television of American culture. The idea is to give you a complete learning experience, and one that I am passionate about! By incorporating all the formal elements of studies with the cultural elements of living in the United States, you will be able to obtain an authentically American learning.

In the first class we will meet, we will speak in English, we will see how far you want to take it, and how you would like to learn it.

From then on, each class begins with a brief chat about your day to warm-up, followed by a review of grammar and any articles, songs, or movies assigned to you in the previous class. Then we see the new grammar topic, accompanied by a reading together with an emphasis on the new grammar. Finally I present your art to consume for the week with a homework page related to the topic of the day.

Every two weeks we will do a test and review to the past material, and we will talk about how to move forward! The idea is to always adapt to your needs and ensure that everything you learn is well founded.
