About Annabel

My name is Annabel. I am a thirty four year old teacher who has been teaching in Independent schools for the past fourteen years with children from all walks of life.

I am an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for learning, and I myself am keen and constantly broadening my own knowledge in all subject areas. My main teaching subjects include secondary Biology, Physical Education and Sports Science along with Primary or common entrance level Maths, English and Science. As well as working as a national curriculum teacher I have tutored many children with special educational needs.

Having studied for my degree with the Open University I developed a particularly strong sense of independent learning and am pleased to note that my assignment and dissertation results were frequently ranging between 85-95, due to my ability to compose and structure essays. So if essay writing at GCSE or A level is what you are looking for, I am I able to deliver tutoring to assist with your child's development in this area also.

I pride myself on being able to build a rapport with students to encourage their passion for learning too and to increase their confidence and knowledge within subject areas they feel may need a helping hand.

Not all students have a willingness to learn and sometimes the national curriculum, particularly within larger classes can be taught at a pace which students can struggle with. As a personal tutor I can offer one to one time working at the students desired pace and using innovative ways, suited to each individual to enable their potential to be reached.

About the lesson

>My teaching philosophy is to ensure every student engages with their chosen subject through enjoyment, by ensuring all lessons are tailored using innovative and exciting methods specific to each student.
>Each lesson will last for approx. 1 hour to ensure engagement throughout, 2 hour lessons available with a 15 minute rest break in which I like to engage in mindfulness exercises should the student wish.
>I have tutored students independently for almost my entire career as a teacher, alongside teaching full classes. (14 years)
>My tutoring methodology is very much specific to each individual to ensure they exceed their potential and therefore extremely versatile and am confident in tutoring all age groups from primary to A level.
