About Raymond
I am a kind and level-headed educator who values fostering a positive mindset on learning at all ages. I started working as an educator in 2021 as an after-school educator in San Ramon with STEAM lessons catered towards younger learners (K-5). I have continued my education since then working towards becoming a teacher by pursuing my CBEST and CSET tests which are necessary to teach at the high school level. I have spent a few semesters studying at CSUEB to become a teacher but ultimately came to the conclusion that working as a public high school teacher was not in the cards for me. I am working towards spending the end of this year in Brazil, teaching English to students in the Northeast of the country using my TEFL certification.

My teaching method focuses on the individual first, I prioritize learning how students feel they learn best and work upwards from there. I often go out of my way to find the best differentiated approach to a lesson to make sure that the students feels that the content is accessible. A typical lesson plan starts with what the students feels they are lacking in and then after communication for a few days, I build an interactive lesson plan that uses some handwriting but mostly typing to build student understanding. I have worked extensively with Middle and High school students, many of my lessons are built around the English and History curriculum of 6th to 12th grade students.
