About Deborah
My name is Deborah, and I am a passionate and creative educator with a background in English tutoring and Music Theater. I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures and helping others feel more confident in expressing themselves.
I became an English tutor because I love seeing people grow in confidence and achieve goals that once felt challenging. Through my own experiences working with students from diverse backgrounds, I have seen how language skills can open doors to new opportunities, friendships, travel, and personal growth.
I bring a warm, patient, and encouraging approach to teaching, and I enjoy creating lessons that make students feel supported and motivated. I am passionate about helping each student discover their strengths and feel proud of their progress.

My approach to tutoring is centered around creating a supportive, encouraging, and engaging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and building their confidence. I believe the best way to learn a language is through practical communication, so my lessons focus on real-life conversations, pronunciation, vocabulary development, and improving fluency.
I tailor each lesson to the individual student’s goals, learning style, and current English level. My teaching techniques include conversation practice, role plays, discussions, personalized exercises, and using topics that interest the student to make lessons enjoyable and relevant. For younger learners, I incorporate creative activities to help maintain engagement, while for adults I focus on practical English skills for everyday life, work, travel, and social situations.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, but I am happy to discuss different lesson lengths depending on the student’s needs.
I am an ESL qualified English tutor with experience teaching students from different cultural backgrounds and helping them improve their conversational English skills. I also have a Diploma of Music Theater from the Australian Institute of Music, which has strengthened my communication, pronunciation, confidence-building, and presentation skills.
My lessons are suitable for beginners through to advanced learners, including children, teenagers, and adults who want to improve their English speaking, listening, pronunciation, and overall confidence.

For in-person lessons, I am happy to discuss suitable locations depending on convenience. Any travel costs or additional arrangements will be discussed and agreed upon before lessons begin.
