About Stephanie
I got my MA in TESOL from Michigan State University in 2007. During my time in the program, I taught in the university's Intensive English Language Program for students working to integrate fully into undergraduate classes. After this, I taught ESL to aspiring university and graduate students for about two years (2007-2009) at Michigan Language Center in Ann arbor, Michigan. From 2009 to 2014, Itaught English at ELS Language Center in Shanghai, China. These young Chinese students also had the goal to enter American universities.
I love teaching English, helping young adults make progress in all areas of productive and receptive language, and I especially love relating to international students. I grew up in Asia and have the unique perspective of living abroad and the challenges of navigating in a second language.
I have tutoring ESL students one on one countless times as well.

My teaching method is student-based. I look at individual needs and areas needing improvement. I am very interactive and creative in my approach. I don't often like to do things the same way twice, and I focus strongly on getting students to make their own corrections in both writing and speaking as this is what leads to the greatest learning!
