About Banu

Hello, my name is Banu Haughton and I am an experienced English teacher with over 25 years of teaching and mentoring learners of all ages. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the UK, a Bachelor’s Degree in English Teaching from Turkey, and a TESOL Certificate from Trinity College London. I understand the challenges of learning a new language — I have experienced them myself while learning German up to B2 level — and I use this experience to support my students with patience, empathy, and effective strategies.

About the lesson

In my lessons, I use a humanistic and interactive approach. This means that learning is not only structured and goal-oriented, but also fun, engaging, and adapted to your personal needs. I focus on real communication, building your confidence step by step, and creating a positive learning atmosphere where mistakes are seen as part of progress. Whether you need English for work, study, travel, or everyday life, I will design lessons around your goals. Together, we will practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a way that is practical, motivating, and enjoyable.
