About Julia

I am a professional violinist with a music university degree in "Jazz Violin".
When I started playing the violin I followed a classical training but I had been always interested in other genres and improvisation. So my own musical journey started to begin...
As a teenager I started playing in bands and used guitar pedals to extend my sound.
At that age I got professional requests and after graduating from school I started studying "Jazz -violin".
Since them I've been playing in 4 continents as a solo artist as well with other projects, released numerous recordings and also played as a side woman in cirques or TV shows and pop bands and joined them on their arena tours.
Nowadays I live in London and play mostly in the fields of Jazz, Free Improvisation, Avant garde, Ambient, Electronic Music, Experimental, High Life Music, Afro beat, Fusion, Contemporary Music.

About the lesson

As your teacher I will help you to find your own sound and expression on the violin through a mix of different genres choosen by you and improvisation with a lot of fun and passion for music.
Of course I also convey technical knowledge as it is fundamental to have a good basis.
I also give workshop (also for professionals but all levels) for string players who want to learn about improvisation or Jazz technique. My 12 year teaching experience also includes orchestra leading, band coaching, composing, music theory and ear training.
My secondary instruments are E-bass, an Live electronics.
And I also play on a basic level, piano, guitar, and drums.
