About Vanya
I am a Chemistry tutor with over nine years of teaching experience and hold an MChem degree. My expertise lies in atmospheric chemistry and the study of environmental pollution. I enjoy guiding students through the chemical principles that shape our air and climate. Much of my teaching focuses on smog formation, ozone depletion, and acid rain. These topics allow students to see the direct impact of chemistry on human health and ecosystems. I also explain the role of greenhouse gases, helping learners understand the science behind global warming and climate change. Over the years, I have worked closely with environmental science students, as well as those interested in air quality and climate policy. Many of my lessons combine core chemistry with real-world issues, bridging the gap between theory and practice. I use case studies and recent research to make learning both relevant and engaging. My approach is supportive, structured, and rooted in curiosity. I provide consistent guidance to ensure students not only prepare well for exams but also develop a deeper understanding of environmental systems. I strongly believe that chemistry is a powerful tool to address global challenges. Together, we will explore the fascinating world of atmospheric reactions and their consequences. There is great joy in analysing the chemistry of our atmosphere—and even greater purpose in learning how to protect it.

My teaching approach in Chemistry is systematic, clear, and focused on building understanding step by step. I believe chemistry becomes easier when complex structures are broken into simple parts. This way, learners can connect concepts instead of just memorising them. I guide students through the fundamentals of stoichiometry, periodic behaviour, and chemical bonding with real-life examples. A strong focus is placed on organic chemistry, where I teach nomenclature, functional groups, and reaction mechanisms. I also help learners master isomerism, showing how small structural changes can lead to very different properties. In every lesson, I provide consistent feedback so that learners know exactly where to improve. I encourage questions and create space for curiosity, helping students think like scientists. My method ensures that learners develop not only exam skills but also long-term understanding. For those exploring environmental science or biology, I show how chemistry connects to the living world. From marine ecosystems to sustainability, the subject becomes both practical and inspiring. Together, we’ll build a strong foundation for organic synthesis and beyond. My goal is to help learners gain confidence and excel in understanding the world of carbon compounds.
