About Paul

Hello, I am an experienced tutor & university lecturer with a Doctorate in Engineering and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential. I have many years of teaching, mentoring, and supervising students from different educational backgrounds, and I enjoy making learning simple, engaging, and rewarding.

I provide personalised tuition for Primary and Secondary school students in Mathematics, Science, Business, Engineering, and Computing. Whether your child needs help building confidence, improving subject knowledge, preparing for examinations, or catching up in class, I tailor each lesson to meet their individual learning needs and goals.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and interactive. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to develop their problem solving skills, critical thinking, and love of learning.

About the lesson

Every lesson is personalised to meet the student's learning needs and goals. I use a simple, interactive teaching approach that keeps students engaged and helps them build confidence.

A typical one hour lesson includes:

1. Getting to know the student (5 minutes)
We begin by discussing your learning goals, any topics you find challenging, and what you would like to achieve during the lesson.

2. Setting clear learning objectives (5 minutes)
Together, we agree on the lesson objectives so you know exactly what you will learn and what success looks like.

3. Teaching and guided practice (10 to 15 minutes)
I explain the topic using clear examples and encourage questions throughout the lesson to ensure understanding.

4. Practice and feedback (5 to 10 minutes)
You complete short exercises or answer questions while I provide immediate feedback and guidance.

5. Repeat, reinforce, and review
We continue with short cycles of teaching, practice, and feedback until the end of the lesson. This helps strengthen understanding, improve confidence, and identify any areas that need more attention.

At the end of each lesson, we review what has been learned, discuss areas for improvement, and agree on the next steps to support continued progress.
