About Loretta

My name is Dr. Loretta Olamigoke. I am an experienced educator / adjunct professor and I have over 15 years of experience teaching at both universities and community colleges. My expertise lies in biology-related courses such as Anatomy & Physiology, Biotechnology, General Biology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Genetics, and Cell & Molecular Biology. I have taught in traditional classroom settings, on various online platforms, and through one-on-one sessions, tailoring my teaching style to meet the diverse and unique needs of my students.

About the lesson

As an educator with over 15 years of experience, I believe every student learns differently. That’s why I individualize and personalize each tutoring session to meet their specific needs. My teaching style is rooted in active learning—creating an interactive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and thinking critically. I’ve learned that students often know more than they think. By encouraging participation, I not only assess their understanding in real time but also help build their confidence and foster a love for learning. My approach blends traditional teaching with modern tools like visuals, videos, and virtual activities—especially effective for today’s tech-savvy, visual learners. I also use a variety of assessments beyond multiple-choice tests—projects, presentations, oral summaries, hands-on activities, and essays—to track progress and deepen understanding. These methods ensure that both the student and I can see clear growth. Above all, I am student-centered. My goal is to nurture each learner’s potential, build their confidence, and guide them toward long-term academic success and self-discovery. When my students succeed, I succeed.
