About ASM V

Ex head of faculty/head of department... current examiner - AQA... working at a top private school in West London !

A very bubbly hard working committed individual. Having graduated with an upper second joint honours, I then proceeded on to complete my teacher training at UCL. Having completed this, I applied for my first post as a teacher at a top performing independent girls school in London. I recieved a job offer a little less than 20 minutes after I had the interview (I must have done something right?!). I currently teach both GCSE and A level psychology but not limited to these as my teaching experience spans 9 years where I have also taught A level/GCSE sociology, A level politics. to to GCSE geography and up to GCSE biology.

About the lesson

Thé socratic method is applied in teaching.. a form of cooperative argumentative dialogue between pupil and teacher, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking.

I am an experienced teacher of psychology with my roles to have included being head of department too. My experience ranges from having worked in the independent/private sector and also the state/maintained sector.

I have an MA in educational practice, an MSc in Clinical Psychology, MBA & a PGCE.

My resources have been highly praised by a lead examiner of AQA and my results this year alone for my year 13 students were the following:

11 A* grades
14 A grades
8 B grades
4 C grades

The results above are typical of what my students achieve in the 9 years I have taught my subject because I love teaching it. My popularity at schools is such that when students find that I’m wanting to move onto pastures new... they resort to creating petitions to convince me to stay. I love teaching and my drive to want to see the best in others is highlighted by the brief notes below in my voluntary experience over the years.

In my spare time I attend archery shootouts (though I am terrible at it). I love a nice movie night in with friends and absolutely adore shopping and perfumes. I love cooking and being myself. I realise that a teacher does not always teach but also learns aswell and I look forward to many intriguing lessons from my students in the classroom environment.
