About Ava

Graduating with a 4.2 GPA took work, but for me, it was doable with help from tutors and my support systems. That's why, when given the opportunity, I jumped at the chance to become a tutor myself and share the valuable knowledge I'd gained over the years. I'm so excited to meet you and get started with helping you learn and grow alongside me!

About the lesson

I typically spend the first lesson gauging a student's skill set and prior knowledge. Then, we move on to a very collaborative and encouraging tutoring routine, starting with warm-ups, practice assignments, and exit tickets.

For me, tutoring isn't about memorization or learning just enough to pass, it's about truly understanding the material and being able to build on it in the future. I'm studying education at CU Denver, so this is the perfect way for me to practice teaching as well!
