About Holly

Hello! I am Teacher Holly!

I am a mother of three grown daughters and a grandmother of two wonderful grandsons!

I currently teach 5th grade English Language Arts in a public school in Pennsylvania. I have been teaching for 18 years and have taught grades 1,3,5,6, and 8. I have also been teaching English online for 2 years. My certifications are Elementary Education and English for Middle Grades. My Master's Degree is based on reading instruction and online teaching. During this pandemic I have had the opportunity to gain tremendous experience in distance learning.

I am trained in the Fountas and Pinnell Guided Reading approach and Rewards Reading Intervention program. I have worked with over a thousand students throughout my career, and helped each grown and make individual progress toward his/her reading goals.

In addition to helping your child with exiting assignments. If desired, I can develop a unique education path to help your child become a better reader. This may be through remediation or enrichment!

I have received excellent ratings from students, parents, and employers in the areas of engagement, energy, patience, and preparation.

My passion is not only helping students learn content, but also helping them gain and maintain the confidence they need to continue learning and growing into happy, successful members of society.

I take great pride seeing my students grow and develop a love of learning!!!
