About Michael

My names Michael, Im a 4.0 college student, scored a 5 on my ap language exam in high school, and am transfering to UCLA next year. What most kids need to do isn't work harder, its work smarter. I want to teach kids whats really important so they can start using their time more efficiently

One of my best strengths is understanding other peoples feelings. School isn't just a mental excercise, students need to be calm emotionally as well. Any student who's panicking or stressed won't perform well, I know that when I was in high school I worried a lot more than I should. My favorite part of the job is passing down the first hand knowledge I have to people who were just like me when I was younger: unsure and worried about my future.

Although I have no formal experience as a tutor, I know the school process very well. Young people will relate to young people, having someone who genuinely understands the problems of another student goes a long way in getting through to them, and helping them understand.

About the lesson

Different students will struggle in different areas, I try to identify the area the student is struggling in and help round them out. Successful people aren't perfect, but they can show off their strengths and cover their weakenesses as much as possible.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students are much more intelligent than they think they are. The problem is, they don't give themselves the opportunity to flourish. When a problem comes, they instinctively fall on talking to the teacher, or taking the safe route. What a lot of students fail to realize is that they know what to do, they just don't know how to translate it from an idea to something physical. Before a student talks to their teacher, they should think about if they know the answer, but just need reassurance.
