About Jack
The art of communication is the key to human interactions, both social and professional. English class gives developing minds a chance to study the Why in human relationships through literature and structured writing. It is a place where students can develop their thoughts about the world and learn to control their own voice.
My overall goal as an educator is to help you persist in stretching the limits of your mind. Learning flexes the most essential muscle man has: the mind. I strive to show you how valuable your mind is and instill a hunger for life-long self-improvement.
My tutoring services are designed to help you strengthen your literary comprehension & analysis, grammar, and writing skills. We can strengthen your Reading Skills in both fiction and non-fiction texts. We can hone your Writing Skills in a variety of genres including: narrative, descriptive, persuasive, expository, poetry, and College Essay.
I have been teaching ELA in both high school and middle school settings since 2012. During the lockdown of 2020, I began the YouTube Channel "TheELAConnection." The Channel aims to teach viewers how to be Interactive Readers and Writers. The Channel is an extention of my day job as a Middle School ELA Teacher.

We arrive at a given point in time based on the past events of our lives, and our current needs to become a better version of ourselves. When meeting new students, I ask simple questions:
1. Who are you?
2. How do you want to strengthen your Reading Skills? How do you want to strengthen your Writing Skills?
3. What would you like to improve during our time together?
I have only one philosophical axiom that dictates all the rest: Persistence. I have told all age-groupings of students (grammar through high school) the same story, that of The Tortoise and the Hare. I repeat to all students: “Every time I read that story, the Tortoise always wins. Why? Because he doesn’t get lazy and give up like the Hare. The Tortoise continues, slow and steady towards his goal.” Always persistence towards the goal of increasing your knowledge and your understanding of your life and the world around you. “Be the Turtle.”
